In 2008, I launched the idea of supplementing the location and business promotion services of the Canton of Basle City with a new type of programme to promote the architecture and design industry.

The Initiative Creative Industries Basel ICB supported young creatives in Basel from 2011 to 2013. It was financed by the canton, and I implemented the programmes as managing director together with cultural entrepreneur Martin Heller († 2021). The initiative strengthened design and architecture as economically significant sectors in Basel and promoted the players' own initiative, networking and marketing expertise. It also encouraged offices in other cantons and national funding foundations to start offering comparable formats.
